Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house using a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the check here last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
